Ive heard that even if we covered the entire United states with trees it would only absorb 10% of the Carbon Dioxide in the air, my question is.. What other alternatives do we realistically actually have? We have so little time left, and i dont think the CEOs of those 100 companies responsible for 70% of pollution will ever see any kind of Justice. Ive heard the suggestion we can shift the economy from consumerism to sustainability.. is there enough time to do this? do you think it would work?
Yes, and in my opinion yes Trees also remove air pollutants. One example is that Indoor air quality can be vastly improved with houseplants..this has been well studied by NASA. Check multiple sources for the best data we have on how much trees absorb. Local air quality also improves from a more dense canopy, regardless of what the global planet averages are.
